SEQUESTERED PSYCHOTHERAPIST

Day 62

TGIF... or is this even Friday? I remember when Friday meant, that I had the weekend ahead of me to relax and have fun. Now, many of us don't even know what day it is half the time. We are like hamsters running in a wheel to nowhere. Consequently, we must change things up and get off the wheel, that is keeping us stuck.

I'm excited today, because my daughter and I are leaving the house. She has some things to pick up and some to drop off at other stops. She will be using social distancing and will be sanitizing everything, everywhere she goes. I'll just be riding along but I'm excited to do that.

I've just returned from my outing. I never got out of the car, but it was great to see things. Which stores were closed, which stores were busy, and even how fewer cars there were on the streets. When we were at the UPS store, my daughter put on her mask, and only had to put her package on the table and leave. She wore her mask and the worker was wearing hers. The well-dressed young man, who walked in behind her, was not wearing a mask. What the what?!! By the way;in case you thought otherwise, not wearing masks or following the rules knows no socioeconomic difference. The wealthy, the poor and everyone in the middle are however, mostly wearing masks. I noticed who was, or was not wearing a mask on our drive. We drove through several areas of town, and I would say that 90% of the people I saw were wearing masks. It is good to remember, that the majority of the population are wearing masks and following the rules. People can, and will, do whatever they want, but I don't want to get sick, because of the minority, moving among us. I'm afraid that some people may have to learn the hard way, that the new coronavirus is real and very contagious.

It is so important that we get out of the house, and get off the hamster wheel. Today I just road along with my daughter, as she ran her errands. I hope you are having sunshine where you live, as we are experiencing here in Grand Rapids. Get out of the house. Seriously, I feel so much better just getting out and seeing what was going on, and enjoying the beautiful day. Set the hamster free.

Stay safe and remember that this won't last forever.
