Days 66 and 67

I didn't remember that yesterday was Tuesday, because it felt like Sunday all day. Well, at least part of the day was like that. I was working, organizing my bedroom most of the day. It was about six o'clock in the evening, when I realized I had just missed an online meeting.

I also didn't write in my blog yesterday. I'm not exactly sure why that happened. I guess it was just an off day. Like every other day isn't different now, right?

Today was a work day.Thank God I didn't think this was Sunday. My clients seemed to be feeling some frustration, because the new coronavirus is lasting so long. This is so understandable, as I think many of us are feeling the same way.

I wonder if it's the holiday coming next week. Friday would be the beginning, of a long weekend holiday for many people. A weekend of fun with family and friends. Returning to cottages or meeting in backyards with neighbors. Lots of fun, food, drink and and celebrations. Time off from work to relax and have fun. I feel like people are feeling the loss of this upcoming Memorial day. This is one more reminder and loss, connected with the pandemic. The upcoming holiday is not going to be the same for most people.

I would encourage people to try to make the holiday special in some way. You may not be able to travel or be in close contact with your family and friends, but I believe it is important that you find a way to celebrate. This will be a Memorial Day to remember. It may not be the best or like one you've had in the past, but you will remember it.

Of course, not everyone is thinking about Memorial day. People are very stressed with daily life, much less worrying about a barbecue on Monday. Speaking with people all the time, about their everyday stresses of life, that are compounded by living in a pandemic, is constant. They need help to make it thru the day, much less, how to celebrate. Consequently, if you are upset about lack of celebration, remember those who are working in the hospital, or a patient, fighting for life. Think of those who will not have a holiday, because they are working other jobs to keep us safe and comfortable. Think about those who don't have the money, to buy any food to grill. We have to put everything into perspective right now. Like the man who complained about not having any shoes, until he met the man with no feet.

Be safe and remember that this will not last forever.
