Day 84

Saturday, June 5, 2020

This is the day the Lord hath made let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalms 118:24 The second beautiful day in a row. I love that verse from the bible and I heard it every Sunday growing up. On these perfect days when I don't want to go inside, it comes to me loudly and clearly. What an incredible gift this kind of day is.

With everything seemingly falling apart around us, we must hold fast to any joy we may have in our lives and be thankful for what we have. For me, my patio garden is a place where nature and I meet, in harmony and peace.

What is something in your life that can bring you happiness right now, even in some small way? It may be watching your children play, watching a sunrise or the sun as it sets. Maybe you paint like me or knit or work on cars. Doing anything that brings you even moments of joy are of the most importance.

I'm sitting on my chaise on my patio. It is dusk, my favorite tiem of the day. There is a cool breeeze and the smell of a just watered garden.I hear a robin singing what I call its night song. I love that so much. I don't want to go inside. It is peaceful, I don't want to think about the plight of the world or the Corvid-19 virus, or especially the recent deaths and suffering in our country. I don't want to think about a government tha enfcourages violence much like a dictator. I just want to sit here, feeling the breeze, enjoying the heady aroma of wet ground and flowers. I want to feel joy and peace. I want all those things and more. I want to keep this moment alive in my mind forever. I wish this moment for everyone in the world. For those being persecuted, for those in pain, for those in mental anguish, forthose hungry and homeless, for those dying and for those who are caring for the sick and wounded. I wish this moment could last forever.

If wishes were horses, we all would ride. Sometimes a wish will come true but for the issues in our world today we must face reality, not the world of wishes. The world is hard and especially hard right now. While it is true that we must take ction and is true that we must follow dificult rules to remain safe, we also must find small ways to rise above the sea of pain and suffering to breathe. If only for a moment, stop and breathe and try to find moments of peacae.

It's so important that you at lest try to clear your mind and breathe, even if there is a fight ahead. Prepare yourself for what may come by caring for yourself.

Stay safe and remember that this will not last forever.
